What is your small business branding theme for this holiday season? Do you have a specific promotion planned around your company and products this season? If you do, is there a unique design in place to tell the visual story behind the promotion? Have you focused on selecting the right colors or font for your design? Is your company’s logo and brand identity clearly illustrated in this look?
These are all important questions to answer when you’re stepping up your efforts to brand either your company or special holiday deals during the winter shopping season. Check out this list of holiday branding efforts from leading companies. Here are several other areas you should be looking at on branding your small business for the holiday season:
1. Email Campaigns: Make sure you put those opt-in email addresses to good use and send out plenty of emails promoting your holiday specials and deals.
2. Landing Pages: When you send out your emails, direct people back to specially designed landing pages that depict your holiday branding.
3. PR messages: Don’t just tell the visual story this holiday season with your branding; tell the story through the written word as well. Come up with some catchy story angles and press releases that play up your holiday theme and branding.
4. Postcards: Take the look and feel of your emails and landing pages and put it on a mailer and send out to your targeted audience. Have incentives ready to go and, again, direct people to your landing pages (this is a great way to measure the success of your campaign as well).
5. E-Newsletters: Engage with people by sending out your December e-newsletter talking about all kinds of holiday-themed stories. Look inside your company to see if any of your employees or customers have interesting holiday stories. Tip: Also take these stories and turn them into PR angles as well.
6. Customer Service: When people call your store make sure you train customer services reps to mention specific holiday messages.
7. Social Media: Remember to utilize Twitter, Facebook and a host of other social media to connect with people who follow you and your fans. They want to know what your holiday themes and deals are as well. Spread the word!
8. Blogs: It’s more than just telling people your deals and promotions. Use blogs to also talk about holiday-themed interesting tidbits that relate to your company and or products. Get people involved so they comment and contribute.
9. Advertising: Are you planning any print, broadcast or electronic advertising this holiday season? Again, it’s all about branding your theme. Lead with these messages to tie everything together.
10. Guerrilla Marketing: Are you planning any “people on the street” promotions or publicity stunts? Whatever you’re planning don’t forget to keep it in line with your branding so people know who you are.
