Ready For Cyber Monday?
-
Surprisingly enough, retail sales for this year’s “Black Friday” were actually up one percent compared with last year’s annual holiday shopping day. Now all eyes turn to what is known as “Cyber Monday,” where holiday shoppers rush to the Internet to purchase all kinds of gifts for the holidays. Online shopping is now the preferred method of shopping for millions of people who don’t miss the large crowds and throngs of people at places such as Wal-Mart.
Since the beginning of November, retail e-commerce sales have tallied $10.41 billion, marking a four percent decline compared with the same period last year.
Much like traditional retailers have to do special marketing for Black Friday, online retailers must also do marketing for Cyber Monday. If you fall into this category, you’ll hopefully be sending lots of emails to your targeted customer base and directing them to specially designed landing pages promoting your Cyber Monday deals. Make sure you also utilize lots of Web 2.0 and blogs to generate even more buzz for your deals.
