Today is Black Friday. With the sluggish economy, every retailer has been salivating and waiting for this day, which is dubbed the busiest shopping day of the year. I would argue that people get into more of a shopping frenzy as we get closer to Christmas. But nonetheless deals are aplenty on this day.
All kinds of retailers, including Best Buy, Target and Wal-Mart, all had great deals and extended store hours to allow customers a chance to kick off the holiday shopping season.
If you are a retailer that can take advantage of the holiday spending season, what have you done for Black Friday promotions? More importantly, what kind of marketing or PR programs have you put in place to make sure your customers know what your deals are? Are you going to send out more emails alerting customers to your deals? Have you set up a special landing page to promote season deals? Are you stepping up your PR efforts and calling retail reporters to offer quotes about your traffic and sales? You need to focus on running your business today. But you also need to find time to tell people about what you have to offer - and have other people talk about what you have to offer.
